Homemade Cinnamon Crunch Bread

🍞 Cinnamon Sugar Crunch Bread

✅ No yeast needed — ready in about 1 hour


Ingredients

Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

  • ½ cup sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Bread Batter:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp vinegar/lemon, rest 5 min)

  • 1 large egg

  • â…“ cup vegetable oil or melted butter

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a loaf pan.

  2. In a small bowl, mix ½ cup sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon and set aside.

  3. In another bowl, whisk egg, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla.

  4. Add flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Stir gently – don’t overmix.

  5. Sprinkle 2–3 tbsp of cinnamon sugar into the greased loaf pan.

  6. Pour half of the batter into the pan. Sprinkle more cinnamon sugar.

  7. Add the rest of the batter and top with remaining cinnamon sugar.

  8. Bake 45–55 mins, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  9. Cool 10 min in pan, then remove and let cool on a rack.

  10. Optional: Brush warm bread with melted butter and roll/sprinkle in more cinnamon sugar for that crunchy look like in the photo.

  • Warm in microwave 10 sec before eating
