Cheesy Texas Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Texas toast–style thick-sliced bread

  • ½ cup salted butter, softened

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 teaspoon garlic powder)

  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped (optional)

  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional but adds great flavor)

  • ¼ teaspoon salt (skip if using salted butter and garlic powder)


Instructions

1. Prepare the Garlic Butter

  1. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, garlic, parsley, and salt (if needed).


2. Assemble the Toast

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Lay the slices of Texas toast on a baking sheet.

  3. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over each slice.

  4. Top generously with mozzarella (and cheddar if using).


3. Bake

  1. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until the edges are golden and the cheese is melted.
